Uga’s paw in magic sand

A print that stays, like the ones in caves.

Long before there were words, people pressed their hands onto cave walls. This is the same gesture, made today, in a tray.

Step by step

  1. Make the magic sand

Eight spoons of sand, one of cornflour, a splash of oil. Mix.

  2. Spread it flat

Fill the tray and smooth the top with your palm.

  3. Press your hand

Whole hand, fingers apart, and lift it straight up.

  4. Look at it together

Whose hand is bigger? Whose fingers are longer?

Uga’s tip

Uga would have made exactly this print, thousands of years ago.
