Together
Uga’s little bird friend
A bird made from a paper roll, to keep you company.
A small companion you made yourself is easy to talk to. Children often say things to a paper bird that they would not say to anyone.
Step by step
-
Fold the top
Press the top of the roll flat and fold the corners in. That is the beak.
-
Add the wings
Two paper shapes, one on each side.
-
Draw the eyes
Two dots, quite close together. Close together looks friendlier.
-
Give it a name
Out loud, so it counts.
Uga’s tip
Put it where you sleep. Some nights, it is easier to tell things to a bird.
